Jeremy Renner can sing? Wait, shut the front door! Jeremy, as in the actor who starred as Hawkeye in “Avengers: Endgame“? Yep, that one.
While the 48-year-old actor isn’t saving the world from doom on the silver screen, he’s a musician, apparently.
Last week, Renner took to his social media accounts to tease his musical project by sharing a 21-second clip of him showing off his vocals. We are assuming the recording took place at a home studio.
It was a cover version of Sam Feldt’s “Heaven Don’t Have a Name”. The cover debuted on Spotify in all its Imagine Dragons-like glory. Many of you may not know this but Renner was actually featured on the original rock track as a backing vocalist.
So why the sudden release of a full cover? Not just Marvel fans, but everyone else is pretty confused by the situation. Unfortunately, there’s almost no context for us. The only hint we’ve gotten from his official website, is that Renner has recently finished recording a full album and hopes to release it “soon”.
In speaking to Billboard, Feldt talked about how their collaboration came to be. “I’ve always been a big fan of Jeremy Renner’s movies and acting performances. When I heard he could sing, too, I reached out to Renner and we worked on this vocal together,” he said.
“I spent days perfecting the track into something that oozes both Renner’s cinematic vocal style and the classic Sam Feldt summer sound. I love how the vocals are romantic and dramatic, and how they are complimented by a cinematic-style break and typical Sam Feldt drop,” the Dutch DJ added.
