I went to the Hausboom Music Festival 2024 and had a blast! Having been to last year’s festival, I can confidently say that this year’s event outdid itself. The new location at Bandar Malaysia was a game-changer—right in the city centre, making it super accessible. The parking situation was fantastic, with plenty of space, and if you didn’t want to drive, there were public transport options, including a shuttle service from MRT Bandar Malaysia for just RM2. That’s still way cheaper than getting a Grab car!

Great Location

One thing that really stood out to me this year was the spacious layout. Compared to last year’s event at Sepang Circuit, I felt much more comfortable walking around, exploring the vendors, and just taking in the atmosphere. Even with a crowd of maybe 5,000 people, the space didn’t feel cramped, which made the overall experience more enjoyable. It’s clear that Bandar Malaysia was a strategic choice for the festival, offering easy access, tons of parking, and plenty of room to move around.

As for the event itself, it was a rollercoaster in the best way possible. The weather was a bit of a challenge—it was scorching hot in the afternoon, not much of a breeze to cool things down, and then by late afternoon, the rain came pouring down. Thankfully, the rain only lasted until around 7pm. I ended up buying a poncho from the organiser’s vendor, “Poncho Poncho”, for RM10. It was convenient, but I’d definitely recommend bringing your own next time! Despite the rain, the crowd’s energy didn’t dampen one bit.

Awesome Line-up

The festival’s line-up was stellar and offered a great blend of nostalgia and modern hits. The day kicked off with Empty Page, setting a great tone and warming up the crowd. Skudap Skudip, Airliftz, and Jemson followed, each bringing their unique flair to the stage. As the day progressed, the energy only grew stronger, with standout performances by Amir Masdi and A.C.A.B. One of the day’s highlights was Senariounion, whose nostalgic set took me back to my childhood. Having watched their movies countless times growing up, seeing them live was like a dream come true. Their performance alone was worth the ticket price!

The festival also featured performances from Payung Teduh & Pusakata, who brought a refreshing calmness to the crowd, before Dato’ Sri Siti Nurhaliza took the stage and absolutely mesmerised everyone with her powerful voice. It was incredible to see such an iconic artist on the Hausboom stage, adding a sense of prestige to the event. The diversity of the line-up was truly impressive, catering to fans of various genres, from punk and ska to pop and traditional sounds. It was a well-curated musical journey from start to finish, and the organisers did a great job with the flow of performances. Each artist brought something special to the table, making sure there was never a dull moment.

The day concluded with an electrifying series of performances by Orkes A. Hizadin, Joe Flizzow, and Bunkface, which kept the crowd hyped right until the very end. DJ Fuzz played in between sets, maintaining the momentum and energy between bands, which was a smart move by the organizers.

Dope Vendors

The festival had a wide range of vendors, from local fashion brands to accessory stalls and, of course, plenty of food options. I spent a good amount of time browsing through the booths, and the variety kept things interesting throughout the day. It’s great to see how much local talent is being supported at events like this, and I definitely grabbed a few unique items to take home.

Overall, Hausboom Music Festival 2024 was a resounding success. With the new location, improved organisation, and well-thought-out line-up, it far surpassed last year’s event. From nostalgic moments to fresh new performances, there was something for everyone. With amazing performances, and a great atmosphere, it’s easily one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended. I can’t wait to see how they top it next year!
