Malaysia has been experiencing a heavy bout of rain these past few days. While some might be enjoying the weather, it’s a red flag for others. Case in point, the recent flash flood that hit Bentong, more specifically the Bukit Tinggi area.

Gaming YouTuber Han Xiao Ai (韓曉噯, Michell Lim) had been visiting Bukit Tinggi yesterday (12th February) when the unexpected happened. Apparently, she and a few friends were caught in the flood and almost got swept away by it!

Xiao Ai shared her experience with the flash floods yesterday evening on her socials. Bukit Tinggi had reportedly been flooded after a burst of heavy rain in the area. Tourists, like Xiao Ai ended up trapped there. The 27-year-old had documented the area steadily flooding, telling her followers, “(It’s) so scary, what (should) we do?” and “I’m stuck“.

She later uploaded a video, detailing her frightening experience in full. “We’re currently at Bentong, we just saw a car get swept away (by the flood),” Xiao Ai stated. “It’s a good thing (our) friend’s husband saw it (happen), otherwise we would also have (gotten swept away).” They then showed the flooded area with many others waiting the flood out.
