Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events! We were here, there and everywhere!
We went full otaku at AniMangaki 2024, channeled our inner fashionista at Philipp Plein, raced into the arms of Heineken, and more. We were on the scene, and vibing like a boss! Just check out our social diary for this past week (don’t be jelly!):
AniMangaki 2024
Although we couldn’t spend an entire weekend at this annual convention (like we wanted to), we certainly had a blast on the first day. The three-day event took place at the Mines International Exhibition and Convention Centre, where we got to check out all things anime and manga!
From press conferences to games, merch to cosplay meet-and-greets, and even singing our hearts out – AniMangaki 2024 afforded us non-stop fun activities that we’ll remember for a long time. Check out some of the things we did on opening day:

Philipp Plein & Plein Sport Fashion Showcase
We were front and centre at the showcase for the Fall 2024 collection from Philipp Plein and Plein Sport at The Starhill! The party-like fashion event offered a sneak peek at what to expect from the two luxury fashion brands for their upcoming seasonal collection – and it was a blast!
Of course, we had to drop by the Philipp Plein and Plein Sport stores in Starhill KL, where you can now get your favourite pieces from the Fall 2024 collection.

Heineken Crowns Malaysia’s First Player 0.0 Champion!
The racing spirit was at an all-time high at Piazza, Pavilion Bukit Jalil as the Player 0.0 Malaysia Finals were held in conjunction with a live viewing of the much-anticipated Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix™, the first race back after the season’s summer break. It was a vibrant atmosphere as enthusiasts gathered for an unforgettable experience; but the event was more than just a race. It was a celebration of the sport, as fans enjoyed a live screening of the fan-favourite Dutch GP – Max Verstappen’s very own home race – and the home of Heineken®.
The venue was transformed into a Grand Prix paddock experience with F1™-themed engagements. As guests enjoyed Heineken® 0.0, they got to witness firsthand the impressive gameplay between the finalists who went wheel-to-wheel on the sim, as Chong Kai Chang emerged as Malaysia’s very own ‘Player 0.0’. Making it more than just the race, live music performances from favourite local DJs – Blink, Jovynn, Mister Rodrigo, Pitch Shift and Shwan Zod – featured F1™ themed sounds within their setlist that transformed the venue, giving fans a refreshing watch party experience.

“Money Games” Press Conference
We were stoked to attend the press conference for the upcoming Lunar New Year movie, “Money Games.” The Malaysia-Hong Kong collaboration stars big names in the local and Hong Kong entertainment scene, including Eric Tsang, Bobby Au-Yeung, Edmond So, Jack Lim and Steady Gang.
During the event, we heard some behind-the-scenes stories and got an exclusive preview, which added to our anticipation for the action-comedy flick that will hit theatres next year.

HABIB Merdeka Open House & Exhibition
In celebration of Malaysia’s 67th Independence Day, HABIB hosted a Merdeka Open House at the HARTA Space in Ampang. The event allowed guests to reconnect with each other, while indulging in some traditional Malaysian feasts.
We also checked out the gallery’s latest exhibition, ‘Pesanan, Kenangan’, curated by Yap Sau Bin and featuring pieces from the Pakha Sulaiman collection. The art collector himself was at the event and gracefully took guests on an insightful tour of the exhibition, sharing stories of the arts and the artists. The ‘Pesanan, Kenangan’ collection is open until 16th September at the HARTA Space Gallery.

The Moonlit Trail Mid-Autumn Festival @ Pavilion Bukit Jalil
As the seasons change, Pavilion Bukit Jalil and UOB invite you to experience the magic of autumn at the Moonlit Trail Mid-Autumn Festival!
Held at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, the colourful celebration features various activities, such as mooncake-making, fan-dipping, and much more! Not only that, but we also get to sample the best mooncakes in all of KL! And to top it all off, we enjoyed some ceremonial Chinese tea! What could beat that?
