Not enough shopping malls in Penang? Have to drive all the way to Kuala Lumpur for all your favourite brands? Soon, Penangites will have more options. And when we say soon, we mean July.

The RM500 million Gurney Paragon Mall in Penang will fully open come July 2013 and it will house at least 270 to 280 retail outlets. As a matter of fact, according to Hunza Properties Bhd’s Group executive chairman Datuk Khor Teng Tong, 75% to 80% of the mall’s total lettable area had already been leased out!

Retail bands names from the Valiram Group such as Michael Kors, Swiss Watch Gallery, Victoria’s Scret, Tumi, Godiva, Charles & Keith, and Pedro will be taking up some space at the mall. Padini and Debenhams, too, have taken up some lots in the mall. Padini alone will take up 50,000 sq. ft. with its Gurney Paragon Mall outlet being the biggest store in not only Penang, but also in the country.

Other retailers/companies which were added to the list of Gurney Paragon Mall tenants are such as Ben’s, Lunarich Pizza & Pasta (we don’t even have that in Kuala Lumpur, do we?), Angus House Japanese Charcoal Steak, JK Plastic Surgery Consultation Centre, My Dream Wedding, and Dragon-I Signature.

Alright. We’re officially jeaolus of Penangites right now.
