What is a rockstar?
A rockstar, for the longest time, was limited to the classic vision of some band’s front man or lead guitarist that was always moving a crowd of people with his musical talent. However, today’s rockstars come in all shapes and sizes.
From rockers to DJs, the modern day day DJ/producer now embodies the term rockstar just as well as Myles Kennedy and Slash do. Besides, most of today’s top DJs and producers are knowledgable musicians, take Skrillex for example.
Growing up in the world of hardcore punk rock, dance music would have no Skrillex if the American DJ/producer didn’t find his humble beginning plucking guitar strings with a live mic in front of him. Now, Skrillex is showing his roots a little, as he makes a return to Guitar Hero’s latest edition.
The well-known and loved video game is upping the ante with their latest edition, Guitar Hero Live, by creating an authentic, first-person rock experience that can play at locations all throughout the world. Some of the Guitar Hero Live artistes include The Black Keys, Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Green Day, Ed Sheeran, The Killers, Carrie Underwood and…yes, you guess it – Skrillex.
Skrillex will be the only electronic artiste to be featured on the game and although Skrillex’s music has been featured on the past versions of the game, we’re quite certain that he’ll fit right in on this latest edition. The full list of of in game-artistes featured in Guitar Hero Live here.
