Dive into the mesmerising world of donghua! GSC International Screens and Made by Bilibili have launched the Donghua Universe Spring Edition 2026, an animation festival celebrating the artistry and evolution of Chinese animation (donghua) on the big screen. Curated by Made By Bilibili, the festival is taking place exclusively at GSC LaLaport BBCC from now to 3rd May, offering audiences a unique opportunity to experience acclaimed animated works in a cinematic setting.
Designed for both newcomers and long-time fans, the festival creates a shared space to discover, revisit, and connect over standout titles from China’s rapidly growing animation industry. Through this curated programme, it aims to deepen appreciation for the storytelling, visual innovation, and cultural significance of donghua, aimed at creating further awareness amongst Malaysian fans.
Running from now to 3rd May, Donghua Universe Spring Edition 2026 offers a serialised screening format, with new episodes and film releases rolling out weekly. Audiences can follow each story arc in sequence, creating an immersive viewing journey that unfolds over multiple weeks.
The programme features three widely celebrated titles:
- “A Mortal’s Journey (凡人修仙传)”: This 3D animated series won Best 3D Animated Programme at the 30th Asian Television Awards. Praised for its cutting-edge motion capture and real-time rendering, it has been recognised as a global benchmark for Eastern fantasy storytelling.
- “Link Click (时光代理人)”: A highly popular and critically acclaimed animated series, widely regarded for its strong ratings, emotional storytelling, and devoted fanbase.
- “Heaven Official’s Blessing (天官赐福)”: Celebrated for its refined animation artistry, widespread popularity, and critical success both domestically and internationally.
Screenings have begun with the first instalments of “A Mortal’s Journey” and “Link Click”, followed by weekly releases. “Heaven Official’s Blessing” joins the line-up slate on 18th April.
