Babies are able to awaken a protective instinct in most people, even if you claim you aren’t fond of them. Unfortunately, this grandfather in China apparently had no attachment to his own grandkids, going as far as to dump them on the street!
A video of this grandfather’s actions recently went viral, horrifying many. The incident had allegedly taken place in Nanchong, Sichuan Province, China. It showed him angrily dumping one of his grandchildren on the road while onlookers shouted in panic. Luckily, the newborns were rescued while the grandfather got his karma.

The video first showed a man striding towards the road, a bundle of cloth in his arms. He then threw it down onto the busy road. As it turns out, one of the twin baby girls was later placed in the middle of the road and was in danger of being run over. Luckily, passersby who witnessed the scene were quick to get her off the road.
“If I hadn’t reacted quickly and stopped the car to (fetch) the child, a young life would have been lost (to) that man today. I would be so angry,” the netizen who shared the video added later. The video was reportedly uploaded on 10th July. It was later shared that the other twin had been left under a tree nearby, and passersby had rescued her too. The grandfather who had been detained by the crowd, was then arrested by the police.
According to the police, the grandfather had acted out against his twin granddaughters after quarrelling with his son and daughter-in-law over household chores. The 50-year-old had then decided to abandon the two babies, one on the sidewalk and one on the road. “It was a red light at the time, and (the baby was on the road) for only a short period of time,” police later added. “Both children are fine.”

Currently, the grandfather is being detained by the police. As for the twins, they have been placed back in the care of their parents. We sincerely hope the family will be able to move on from the incident, and we hope the parents will do what is necessary to protect their kids, even if it is from their own grandfather.
