Social media these past few weeks have been abuzz with the new #BenderaHitam and #Lawan campaigns with netizens expressing their anger towards the current government. Some netizens proceeded to post photos of themselves in black attire, signalling their support towards the campaign while others raised black flags in their housing compounds. Clearly, everyone is frustrated with the current government but some had very innovative ways to express their anger.
Recently, a restaurant in Taman Melati garnered attention due to its menu named after the current government. Nasi Kerajaan Gagal by Kambing Bakar Lala Lamb definitely symbolises the restaurant’s feelings towards the government. According to their menu in the GrabFood app, this meal is originally priced at RM18. However, in selected outlets, you could get a 12% discount for this meal from 9th July to 6th September.
The description of their menu in the GrabFood app says, “Rice made by the people who followed the SOP, (inspired) by a failed government, this set comes with a whole chicken leg, extra rice, extra homemade sambal, and extra black pepper sauce.”
Apart from Nasi Kerajaan Gagal, priced at RM15.84, this restaurant also serves dishes such as Ayam Sultan and set meals of Nasi Ayam Lala and Nasi Kambing Bakar Premium Australian Lamb Shoulder. They definitely look delicious! The Facebook page of the restaurant has a large variety of promotions in regards to their meals too.
Despite the meal’s name, we really hope people in the area would give it a try. It would be a great way to express their anger with good food that idealises the same vision of the campaigns nationwide.
