Sometimes food delivery riders have to deal with inconsiderate customers but sometimes they need to remind themselves that some of these customers may not be as bad as they may think.

A Grab rider once called out other riders’ behaviour towards disabled (OKU) customers and it looks like this frustrated rider immediately felt remorseful after learning about his customer’s harsh reality. Watch:

Over the weekend, a Grab rider who goes by @irfanrizam_ on TikTok posted a video on his channel of him completing a delivery order for a customer. The rider revealed that he was initially frustrated that the customer did not come to the gate when he arrived and the hot weather only added to his frustration. After a few minutes of calling for the homeowner, he heard a voice from inside the house telling him to come into the compound.

The rider then decided to record the delivery as he didn’t believe the customer was actually disabled as stated in the Customer Remarks. However, to his surprise and regret, the man who greeted him at the door was an amputee in a wheelchair. Irfan then learned the meal had actually been ordered by someone else, for the old man. The Grab employee regretted being angry at the customer without actually learning the whole truth.

“I wanted to ask him if he had any family members with him but I hesitated cause I was holding back my tears,” the rider wrote. Irfan then ended the video by apologising for his initial assumption and said that he’d learn from this experience to be better in the future.

Netizens thanked Irfan for immediately recognising the error of his ways and advised him to not be too impatient when delivering orders as one can never know what the customer might be going through. Some even shared similar experiences of delivering food to OKU customers.

Whatever your line of work is, let’s take this as a reminder to not always assume the worst in people and practice kindness and patience.
