Buddies (as fans of GFRIEND are lovingly known), get ready to be awaken ‘cos GFRIEND will be releasing their new album real soon.
Prior to the album drop, Source Music has also revealed that their latest work will be titled “The Awakening” with the title track “Fingertip”.
The agency previously hinted that GFRIEND will be undergoing an image change. True to their words, the concept for “Fingertip” is extremely different from their previous cutesy image. In their teaser photos and videos, they can be seen posing with plastic guns and military outfits, which gives off a girl crush vibe.
“The Awakening” is the group’s 4th EP and will include a total of 6 tracks. Apart from the title track, the other numbers are named “Hear The Wind Sing”, “Contrail”, “Please Save My Earth”, “Rain In The Spring Time”, and “Crush”.

Their upcoming title track has also been described as a song which “incorporates funky disco elements along with a GFRIEND-style rock sound”. It will show the strong and independent side of the girls, as they show that they can control the hearts of their partners too.
As the girl group is breaking out of their comfort zone for the first time, many fans are anticipating the impending comeback.
