When you visit a foreign country, you will hope your trip goes smoothly. Unfortunately for Taiwanese actor Lee Lee-Zen (李李仁), his trip to Malaysia was met with a few unexpected incidents right from the get-go.
The actor updated his social media on 23rd April (Wednesday), detailing the trials and tribulations he faced on his first day in Malaysia. According to reports, Lee Lee-Zen is currently in the country to film a new movie by director Tang Hsiang Chu (汤湘竹). This is the star’s second time filming in Malaysia, with the first being for the 2020 movie, “Miss Andy”. While Lee Lee-Zen is happy to be back in town, his trip hasn’t been the smoothest.

In his post, the 51-year-old revealed that upon reaching the country on the 22nd (Tuesday), he was detained at the airport because of a problem with his visa. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only unlucky incident because when Lee Lee-Zen woke up the next day, his tooth fell out without any warning. He wrote in his post, “Found a retro dentist, the Indian doctor was very kind! I waited half a day and attached my teeth back. I can continue working now!”.
After his bad luck streak, it seems the filming crew got worried for Lee Lee-Zen. The public figure said, “The producers think things aren’t going well for me these two days, so they took me to a Mazu temple to pray!”. In the photos he uploaded, Lee Lee-Zen was seen praying devoutly at the temple, likely to pray for more good luck. He ended his post, “I hope the Gods will bless me and I will have a smooth and safe trip in Malaysia.”

Fans and netizens have reacted to Lee Lee-Zen’s plight, expressing concerns for him. Many fans also prayed for him and wished him good luck with the movie filming. Funnily, his wife, television personality Matilda Tao (陶晶瑩), quipped that his bad luck is because he didn’t bring her along on the trip. A few local fans also shared a belated welcome for the star, hoping he’ll enjoy the rest of his stay.
We also hope everything goes well for Lee Lee-Zen while he’s in Malaysia. For now, we can only wait and see if his prayers will be answered.
