Get To Know The 5 Killer Cast Of Netflix’s “Kill Boksoon”

While landing a punch may be easy with her ruthless skills and 100 percent success rate, parenting is proving to be quite the opposite for Gil Bok-soon. Upcoming action film “Kill Boksoon” (길복순), which recently premiered at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival, follows Gil Bok-soon a.k.a Kill Boksoon, a legendary assassin who finds herself in a ‘kill or be killed’ situation while also trying to cut through to her teenage daughter’s heart.

Bringing together some of the best in Korean entertainment, meet the killer cast of “Kill Boksoon” who are intertwined in this gruesome web of bloody knives and guns.

1. Jeon Do-yeon as Gil Bok-soon, legendary killer at MK Ent.

Taking on her first ever lead role in an action film, Jeon Do-yeon stars as Gil Bok-soon, a merciless killer leading a double life as a single mother whose child is on the verge of a teenage meltdown. The odds are stacked even more against her as she tries to hide her real profession from her daughter when all of her enemies suddenly come after her.

Best known for her portrayal of a broken woman who has lost everything in “Secret Sunshine”, which won her the Best Actress award at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival, Jeon Do-yeon also recently starred in hit rom-com drama “Crash Course in Romance”.

2. Sul Kyung-gu as Cha Min-kyu, CEO of MK Ent.

Having previously played a ruthless gang leader in crime thriller “The Merciless”, veteran actor Sul Kyung-gu is back with yet another leadership role as Cha Min-kyu, the powerful and intimidating chairman of top contract killer agency MK Ent.

While his charisma and imposing looks make him a familiar face in the action scene, you may have seen the actor show his softer side as a father who is trying to keep it together and cope with the misfortunes that have befallen his family in “Hope” and “Birthday”, both of which are films inspired by true events.

3. Kim Si-a as Gil Jae-young, daughter of Gil Bok-soon

Much like her mother Bok-soon, Gil Jae-young has her own secrets to keep and is finding her way to survive through these tricky teenage years.

Born in 2008, young actress Kim Si-a captured the hearts of many as Kim Ji-eun, a broken child who suffered from domestic violence in “Miss Baek”. Her breakthrough role won her the Best Actress award at the Sharm El Sheikh Asia Film Festival as well as the Best Child Actor award at the Golden Cinematography Awards in 2019, and she has since appeared in Netflix’s “Kingdom: Ashin of the North” and “The Silent Sea”.

4. Esom as Cha Min-hee, Director of MK Ent. and younger sister of Min-kyu

Cha Min-hee alternates between happy-go-lucky aloofness and cold-hearted confidence as the director of the MK Ent., as well as a sister with deep affection for her brother Min-kyu. Lee So-young, more commonly known by her stage name Esom, fits just right for the role with her girlish charm and mature beauty.

Fans of K-pop may recognise her from music videos for TVXQ’s “Wrong Number” and G-Dragon’s “She’s Gone”, in addition to her critically-acclaimed performance in 2014 film “Scarlet Innocence” as well as her notable role in “Taxi Driver”. She is set to star in upcoming Netflix series “Black Knight”, in which she plays a military intelligence officer fighting for humanity’s survival alongside Kim Woo-bin.

5. Koo Kyo-hwan as Han Hee-sung, an affiliated killer of MK Ent.

Koo Kyo-hwan is a familiar face, thanks to his involvement in successive hits that include “Peninsula”, “Kingdom: Ashin of the North”, and “D.P.”, which won him Best New Actor at the 2022 Baeksang Arts Awards.

In Kill Boksoon, this charming man is back in action as Han Hee-sung, an affiliated assassin of MK Ent and a colleague of Bok-soon’s. As the story unfolds, you’ll soon realise that the character’s motives may not be as simple as it seems.

For a taste of what’s to come, catch this exclusive lesson on how to kill someone without making a sound from Gil Bok-soon herself here:
