Genting Highlands is a common spot for KL-ites to visit for short getaways or hang out during weekends.

Unfortunately, we got bad news for all you frequent visitors. Starting from this month (1st October), parking rates have been imposed for most parking lots as well as hotels including Maxims, Genting Grand, First World, and Sky Plaza.

For the time being, parking rates at Genting Highlands are priced at RM5 per day on weekdays and RM8 per day on weekends or public holidays. However, these rates are only temporary as they will be revised once more come 1st January 2018.

According to China Press, parking rates for all parking lots will be charged on an hourly basis next year. Rates for weekdays will be RM2 per hour (maximum charge of RM12 per day). On weekends or public holidays however, rates are RM3 per hour (maximum charge of RM18 per day).

The good news is, Genting Rewards card members can still enjoy free parking until the end of this month (31st October). However, for the remaining months of November and December, only Gold card members and above are entitled to the free parking.
