In conjunction with the Merdeka and Malaysia Day celebrations, Garmin Malaysia recently unveiled Garmin Celebrates Lokal, a campaign that spotlights the people, creativity and experiences that make Malaysia unique.
Weaving together local artistry, the power of community and Garmin’s commitment to healthy living, the campaign encourages Malaysians to embrace staying active in their own “lokal” way, whether through daily routines, outdoor adventures or simple everyday activities that contribute to a healthier lifestyle.
At the crux of the campaign is a collaboration with Malaysian self-taught artist Izzati Suza, whose bold, doodle-inspired illustrations have become recognised for capturing the charm of everyday Malaysian life through humour, colour and authenticity. Blending pop art, caricature and local cultural elements, her artwork reflects themes of identity, womanhood and familiar moments in Malaysian life, making her the ideal creative partner to bring Garmin Celebrates Lokal to life.

Garmin users can download the exclusive Garmin Celebrates Lokal watch face via Connect IQ from 11 August 2026 onwards.

During Garmin’s Happy Merdeka Day promotion, customers can enjoy savings of up to 40% on selected Garmin products. Customers who purchase any Garmin devices during the promotional period will receive an exclusive Garmin Celebrates Lokal sticker pack, while those spending RM2,000 and above will also receive a Garmin Celebrates Lokal Tumbler Blind Box, available while stocks last.
Beyond the creative collaboration, Garmin Celebrates Lokal comes to life through a series of community activities across August and September, offering Malaysians opportunities to connect, stay active and experience different ways of moving together. From fitness sessions and trail running to city runs or walks and yoga, the campaign brings together individuals of different interests and fitness levels through activities that encourage healthier lifestyles and meaningful connections.
Community registrations open from 17 August 2026, and participants can register via the respective session links, which will be shared on Garmin Malaysia’s official social media platforms.
