This Festival of Lights, immerse yourself in a culinary journey at some of the finest hotel restaurants in town. If you’re looking for a vibrant buffet celebrating Deepavali with an array of Indian specialties alongside local and International dishes, then you’ve come to the right place.

Mumbai’s Buffet Dinner At Sofitel’s Kuala Lumpur Damansara Kwee Zeen Restaurant

With a vibrant blend of culture and cuisine, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur invites you to immerse yourself in a captivating eleven-day “Taste of Mumbai” buffet dinner. The buffet features authentic dishes, specially curated by their distinguished guest, Indian Master Chef Waris Qureshi, who will be flying in from Mumbai.

Highlights of the dinner include:

  • Main dishes: Paneer Tikka Masala, creamy Butter Chicken, fragrant Hyderabadi Dum Biryani, a minced lamb dish, a spiced and roasted whole chicken, Kerala Roast Fish, and Prawns Tawa Pulao.
  • Side dishes: Crispy papads and vibrant chutneys

There will also be many more delightful dishes, and this gourmet event doesn’t only stop at food! Guests will be accompanied with captivating live traditional Indian music, soulful dance performances, as well as the art of henna painting, offering a rich blend of culture and cuisine in honour of this festive season. The buffet dinner will be available daily from 6:30pm to 10pm, for RM188+ per person. Complimentary dining for children under the age of 6, while kids aged from 7 to 11 of years will be able to enjoy a 50% discount. Prices are subjected to existing government taxes.

Exquisite Deepavali Offerings At Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur

To experience a lavish Deepavali celebration with a vast variety of Indian delicacies, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur invites you to join a diverse buffet dining experience as well as a live cooking station crafted by Lemon Garden, which is led by Chef De Cuisine Chef Mohd Safee. Delightful festive gift boxes will also be given to guests, which will be specially arranged by Lemon Garden 2Go.

The highlights of the live cooking station include:

  • Western Theatre Kitchen: Roast meats, artisanal cheeses, and wood-fired pizzas
  • Seafood station: Fresh lobsters, crabs, and sashimi
  • Asian Theatre Kitchen:  Rendang, masak lemak, tandoori and dim sum
  • Dessert pavilion: Waffles, crepes and a chocolate fountain

Deepavali Spice & Rangoli At The Westin Kuala Lumpur’s The Living Room

Executive Sous Chef, Shahid Khan is ready to guide your taste buds on a spice trail of iconic Indian dishes for an aromatic evening of flavours. Chef Shahid’s specially curated menu include’s the Hyderabad Dum Briyani, Butter Chicken, Chicken 65, Murgh Malay Kebab, Lamb Seekh Kebab and Tandoori Chicken. Beyond these specialty dishes, Chef Shahid’s ‘Chaat’ counter will be dishing out an assortment of well-loved Indian Street Food as well as Paani Poori and Bhel Poori.

Known for their scrumptious vegetarian dishes, the buffet will also feature a range of Indian vegetarian dishes including Sambar, Venthaya (Fenugreek Mixed Vegetable) Curry, Long Beans Peratal, Pumpkin Masala, Crispy Peria Khee, and a Plant-based Chicken Varuval. Non-vegetarian dishes would include the traditional Chicken Curry with Potatoes, Mutton Peratal and Fried Fish. A Nasi Kandar spread will tempt diners with Briyani Rice, Briyani Lamb Shank, Mutton Kurma, Daging Hitam, Vegetable Dhall, Fish Head Curry being amongst the spread.

Additional trimmings will include an Indian-inspired Compose Salad with Cherry Tomato Chat Masala, Tikka Channa Ka Salad consisting of Chick Pea, Lemon, Chilli Flakes and Cumin, Potato Masala Salad and Gobi Salad made with Cauliflower Marinated Spice Yogurt Salad. Other Deepavali inspired offerings on the buffet will feature Vege Samosa, Ulunthu Vadai and Paruppu Vadai with four Chutney options; Coconut, Tomato, Mint and Mango.

No celebration is complete without desserts. Delight in a selection of Indian Sweets including Laddu, Jalebi, Mysore Pak, Coconut Candy, Gulab Jamun – a milk dumpling in warm sugar syrup, Gajjar Halwa – carrot with milk and cardamom dessert and Payasam, a warm vermicelli kheer pudding made with Indian spices.
