The singer and songwriter reportedly died after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel and his sudden death left fans around the world in disbelief, especially considering his young age.

1. Ron Ely
Ron Ely, best known for playing “Tarzan” in the 1960s NBC series, passed away at the age of 86 years old. His daughter announced his passing on 23rd October 2024 (Wednesday) but revealed he died late last month. Ron died of natural causes related to his advanced age at his daughter’s home in Los Angeles, California. He helped redefine the image of “Tarzan,” portraying him as an educated bachelor who gets tired of civilisation and returned to the African jungle where he was raised. Before his iconic role, Ron also hosted the Miss America Beauty Pageant in the early 1980s.
2. Cissy Houston
The legendary gospel singer and mother of Whitney Houston, Cissy Houston, passed away at age 91 from complications related to Alzheimer’s disease. She died on 7th October 2024 (Monday), at her home in New Jersey, surrounded by her family. The two-time Grammy Award winner began her career at the age of 5 in the gospel group ,The Drinkard Four. Cissy went on to enjoy a successful solo career, recording ten solo albums, four compilation albums, and five collaborative works. She also authored a memoir in 2013, titled “Remembering Whitney: My Story of Love,” “Loss,” and the “Night Music Stopped,” reflecting on the life and tragic death of her daughter.
3. Nicholas Pryor
Soap opera and film actor Nicholas Pryor, best known for his roles in “General Hospital” and films like “Risky Business” and “Less Than Zero,” passed away from cancer on 7th October (Monday), at the age of 89 years old. Nicholas’s career spanned seven decades, best known for portraying father figures, including Tom Cruise’s father in the iconic 1983 film “Risky Business” and Robert Downey Jr.’s father in “Less Than Zero.” Pryor also made his mark on the small screen, playing the father of Kathleen Robertson’s character in “Beverly Hills, 90210” for 26 episodes, as well as appearing on the long-running soap opera “General Hospital.”
4. Giulia Manfrini
Italian surfer and social media influencer Giulia Manfrini tragically lost her life while surfing in the Mentawai Islands, Indonesia. On 18th October 2024, Giulia was fatally wounded after being struck in the chest by a leaping swordfish. The 36 years old sustained a 2-inch-deep wound and was rushed to a nearby clinic but, sadly, did not survive. She was the co-founder of AWAVE Travel and worked as a surfing instructor, often sharing her surfing adventures with her followers on Instagram.
5. Michael Newman
Known for his role as a lifeguard on “Baywatch,” Michael Newman passed away on 20th October 2024, at the age of 68 years old due to heart complications following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2006. He died at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Centre in the United States. Michael, fondly remembered for his character Newmie, initially started on the series as a stuntman and technical advisor. He appeared in “Baywatch” for 10 seasons as one of the action show’s beloved characters and worked as a firefighter during the run of the show.
