New year, new phone? If you’re looking for a sign to finally switch to a new device, then perhaps this article can help you make that decision. However, we understand that smartphones can be quite pricey these days, but you don’t necessarily need to break the bank to get a good phone.

In this list, we’ll focus on key features of newly launched and announced budget smartphones that you might want to consider purchasing by the end of this year or early next year. Let’s find out more:

1. realme C75

The latest addition to realme’s C series is the C75. The phone is available in two colours: Gold and Black, and features Military-Grade Shock Resistance as well as a large 6,000mAh battery. What’s great about this device is that it costs less than RM1,000!

Pricing: RM699

Availability: 18th December on Shopee and Lazada.

2. Samsung Galaxy A16 LTE

Last month, Samsung introduced its latest Galaxy A16 5G phone, which costs around RM899. But what if we told you that it could also be available at a cheaper price? The tech giant recently launched the 4G version of the smartphone, the Galaxy A16 LTE. For the most part, the phone is very similar to its 5G counterpart, minus the storage, as the A16 LTE only comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.

3. HMD Arc

If you’re unfamiliar with HMD, they’re the company responsible for the revival of Nokia phones in 2016. The brand recently revealed its new entry-level smartphone, called the Arc, in Thailand. Although no release date has been announced yet, tech enthusiasts are already looking forward to seeing what this phone can do, especially since it will come with a 5,000mAh battery. Prices and availability have yet to be revealed, but we can assume that it will be affordable, given the specs listed on the official website.

4. realme C65

This smartphone isn’t exactly brand new, but it’s still worth mentioning. Returning to realme, earlier this year, the company unveiled the C65 model. This addition to the C series offers a fascinating Starlight design, improved 45W fast charging capability, and practical features for everyday use. Originally priced at RM699, the brand is now offering a discount on the smartphone without compromising any of its features.
