As introverts, we occasionally experience a drop in our social energy, particularly in large crowds. Whether it’s the hum of a crowded coffee shop or the pressure of social gatherings, introverts may need to disconnect from others and recharge from time to time.

Because of this, we often look for places suitable for us to run away from the bustling, fast-paced lives around us. From lush greeneries to hidden gems around the city of Kuala Lumpur, that is ideal for us to take a break from reality and recharge ourselves. Here are 7 spots that are perfect for introverts to unwind in peace:

1. MeTime Book Cafe

This place is a sanctuary for book lovers and a great place to unwind! MeTime Book Cafe portrays the utmost cosy vibe with wood furniture, fairy lights, and bouncy beanbags! This book cafe is known to have private rooms equipped with a small table and beanbags. MeTime Book Cafe also offers a wide selection of board games, party games, and interactive card reading sessions that can help with personal growth. Despite being more of an introvert’s hideout, this place can be reserved for events or just a mere place to gather with friends and family.

Opening Hours: 11am-8pm

Address: 1.010b, Level 1, The Square, Jaya One, Jalan Profesor Diraja Ungku Aziz, Seksyen 13, 46200 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

They have two types of karaoke rooms, where one looks like a mini recording studio and can accommodate up to two individuals, and another bigger room that fits over 5 people, suitable if you’re heading there alone or with loved ones! The cost of the session starts from RM13, so make sure to head to the karaoke and check it out!

Opening Hours: 10am-10pm (AEON Taman Maluri), 10am-12am (DPULZE and Quayside Mall)

If you’re heading there alone, be sure to check out their private seating area, which is covered with Japanese-style curtain panels and is secluded and ideal for your me-time! While being occupied with work, make sure to order their specialities, ranging from burgers, sweet delights, plant-based mocktails, coffees, and the list goes on!

6. Jamboo KL

TikTok’s famous spot, Jamboo Cafe, better known as KL’s famous hole-in-the-wall cafe, is where you’re able to order, pay, and receive your drinks through a hole! In reality, that isn’t how the whole cafe is; you’re allowed to dine in at the cafe as well if you prefer having something else besides their signature coffee.

For the hole-in-the-wall coffee experience, you can grab a small menu card of your preferred beverage off the hooks outside, ring a bell, and hand the card over to a hand that would appear through the hole, where you’ll receive your order after a while. In the cafe, there is a bigger menu provided, ranging from juices, rice bowls, smoothies, and more! As introverts prefer not talking to strangers, the hole-in-the-wall might be a perfect choice to order your beverages.

Opening Hours: 9:30am-6:30pm (Weekdays), 9am-6:30pm (Weekends)

Address: 19G, Jalan Tun H S Lee, City Centre, 50000 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur.

7. High Street Studio

Source: Instagram (@highstreetstudios.co)

Do you enjoy reading and long to be in nature? Well, High Street Studio KL (HSS) is the perfect spot for you! Nestled within a cluster of renovated pre-war buildings, the HSS Pocket Park was once known to be a backpackers’ hostel. Whether you’re visiting this place to enjoy your presence alone, or heading over with a group of friends, HSS Pocket Park has ample seating areas, be it indoors or outdoor! The indoor area is also surrounded by books, perfect for a reading getaway!

Opening Hours: 8am-5pm

Address: 34, Jalan Tun H S Lee, City Centre, 50100 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persektuan Kuala Lumpur.

These spots, be it quiet cafes or nature getaways, will guarantee to be able to recharge introverts after a long tiring day. So, if you’re ever looking for a place to just spend some time alone, be sure to check out these unique spots around KL!
