As the Festival of Lights draws near, the excitement of Deepavali is not only celebrated through traditional gatherings and customs but also through a variety of delicious treats and special offers. This year, many F&B outlets are adding a festive twist to their menus, offering indulgent deals that go beyond traditional Indian cuisine. From festive beverages to indulgent ice creams, there’s something to satisfy every craving during the celebration.

This month, why not elevate your Deepavali dining experience with a mix of timeless favourites and exciting new dishes and sweets, complete with festive promotions? We’ve curated a list of must-try foods that capture the essence of the festival. Let these dishes inspire your festive spread and add a delicious twist to your celebrations!

Mosaic Restaurant,Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur

From 28th October to 3rd November, Mosaic restaurant will present an exclusive Deepavali buffet, featuring 20 expertly crafted dishes that draw inspiration from the vibrant flavours of India and Malaysia, offering guests a sophisticated yet authentic dining experience.

Curated by Chef Harun, the in-house expert on Indian cuisine and the Sous Chef of Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, this menu has been designed to honour both the diversity of Indian cuisine and the unique tastes of Malaysian fare. Chef Harun’s extensive expertise and passion for local and international flavours make this a dining experience not to be missed. From fragrant biryanis and bold curries to reimagined regional delicacies, each dish tells a story of cultural fusion while remaining true to its roots.

 

The buffet’s thoughtful selection offers something for everyone, from seasoned gourmands to curious explorers of new flavours. With a menu that transitions seamlessly between the rich, warming spices of India and the fresh, aromatic notes of Malaysia, the dining experience promises to be both indulgent and memorable. Some of the key items served during this period are as follows:

  • Boston Lobster Balchao: A Goan-inspired dish combining spicy, tangy flavours of Balchao with the luxurious Boston lobster.
  • Lamb Shank Nahari: Mughal-style slow-cooked lamb, rich in aromatic spices, served as a traditional breakfast stew.
  • Ajwani Fish Tikka Chaat: A fusion of grilled fish marinated in carom seeds with the tangy, spicy flavours of Indian chaat.
  • Champaran Ghost: A traditional Bihari dish of slow-cooked mutton in a sealed pot, infused with rustic spices and mustard oil.
  • Surmai Alleppy: Coastal Kerala’s Kingfish curry with a coconut milk base, tangy raw mango, and aromatic spices.

This exclusive buffet will be available for lunch and dinner during the week of Deepavali, making it a perfect setting for celebrating with family, friends, or colleagues. No Deepavali celebration is complete without traditional sweets, or mithai. Indulge in a wide variety of treats, from soft rasgullas and ladoos to crunchy murukku and much more.

Available at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral on 1 and 2nd November 2024, indulge in the Feast of Lights Buffet for RM148 nett per person from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
