The 26th Annual Miss MalaysiaIndian Global (MMIGLOBAL) Grand Finals lit up Klang as Johor-born Charlotte Netto, 28, a lawyer based in Kuala Lumpur, was crowned winner. She took home the coveted title along with a return ticket to Seoul, a gold coin, and a scholarship from Veritas University College.
Charlotte also clinched two subsidiary titles—MMICARE’s Community Ambassador and Miss Web Popular—earning her an additional return ticket to Thailand. Reflecting on her journey, she credited MMIGLOBAL’s community work for reshaping her outlook.
“The most impactful part of this journey was the community outreach,” Charlotte shared. “Our very first challenge, the Emergency Food Basket Challenge, opened my eyes to the struggles of families in need and taught me the power of standing together as a community.”
Highlights of the Night
- 1st Runner-Up: Dithiamalar Lengatharan, 29, clinical psychologist, Kuala Lumpur – won a return ticket to India and Miss Congeniality.
- 2nd Runner-Up: Saieshwari Sooriarao, 21, data analytics undergraduate – won a return ticket to Vietnam and Miss Petite.
- 3rd Place: Dr. Deevya Sree Ramalu, 28, dentist – won a return ticket to Indonesia and Miss Heritage.
- 4th Place: Vivena Kesavan, 22, biomedical student – won a return ticket to Indonesia and Miss Eco Beauty.
- Ms. Theeveeyatharisini Gopi was awarded Miss Elegance.
Winners of all subsidiary titles also received return tickets to Thailand.
Beyond the Crown
Staying true to its mission of empowerment, MMICARE Association awarded 11 Small Subsistence Grants worth RM3,600 each to students from its Kapar Community Education Programme. These grants, funded by individual donors, will support daily meals for 10 months.
The night also marked the debut of the Community, Environment & Leadership (C.E.L.) Awards, with the Community Impact Award presented to Project Araro Ariraro, a digital archive preserving Tamil folk songs from Malaysia’s plantation era.
