In recent years, road accidents have significantly increased in Malaysia. Whether it involves minor collisions or serious crashes, these incidents rarely end well. Recently, there have been numerous reports of irresponsible drivers who not only endanger themselves but also those around them.
Recent incidents, such as a Honda CR-V reversing on a highway for missing a junction and a motorcyclist who was filming herself while riding her vehicle, are some causes that road accidents end up happening daily. Apart from the aforementioned events, here are a few accidents that ended tragically during the past week:
1. Kuantan, Pahang

On Jalan Felda Jengka 4 towards Maran, twelve individuals, including four children, were injured after two vehicles collided over the weekend (Sunday, 29th September). According to a spokesman from the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department, the cars that were involved in the accident were a Honda City, carrying three men and two women, and a Perodua Bezza, which consisted of one man, two women, and four children.
About eight firefighters from the Jengka Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the location right after receiving the emergency call at 12:29pm. “The team managed to rescue the driver of the Honda City, who was trapped in the vehicle, and was then handed over to the Ministry of Health to be taken to the hospital,” said the spokesman.
2. Temerloh, Pahang

The Health Ministry-owned ambulance overturned at KM115.2 on the Karak Highway after attempting to avoid a motorcyclist who lost control of his vehicle yesterday (Sunday, 29th September). The motorcyclist, who was part of a convoy, slipped, which caused the ambulance to swerve to the opposite lane and fall on its side at 12:15pm.
An anonymous ministry staff member reported that the ambulance was transporting a driver, two nurses, and a medical assistant who were returning from Selayang Hospital after dropping off a patient. Fortunately, they escaped with only minor injuries, and there were no patients on board.
3. Seremban, Negeri Sembilan

The journey back home of a family ended tragically when two of them died after their car, a Perodua Axia, crashed into a wall of a bridge at KM21, Jalan Kuala Pilah-Tampin. The incident that occurred at 3:45pm on Sunday (29th September) resulted in the death of a 64-year-old man and his son, 31; meanwhile, the elderly man’s wife, 62, and their daughter, 28, escaped with injuries.
According to Kuala Pilah District Police Chief Supt. Amran Mohd Gani, the initial investigations, the accident happened when the family was returning from Lendu, Melaka. He also said the vehicle, driven by the victim, lost control and skidded to the left lane before crashing into the bridge near Masjid Jamek Pekan Johol.
4. Kuala Lumpur

Police are investigating the hit-and-run incident that involved two Perodua Myvi cars that collided at KM15.5 on the Federal Highway heading towards Klang, last weekend (Saturday, 28th September). The accident occurred at 4:55am, according to the Shah Alam police chief assistant commissioner, Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the black Perodua Myvi that attempted to overtake in the far-left lane lost control and bumped into the blue Myvi, which was in the middle lane. This caused the blue Myvi to lose control and crash into the right-side road divider, which resulted in damage to the front and side of the vehicle. At the time of writing, neither witnesses nor the driver of the black Myvi itself have yet reported the incident to the police.
5. Bentong, Pahang

A tragic accident involving four cars, a three-tonne lorry, and two trailers resulted in the deaths of three people and seriously injured three other individuals yesterday (Monday, 30th September). The incident, which occurred at KM42 at the Kuala Lumpur-Karak highway near Bukit Tinggi at approximately 4:13am, claimed the lives of Mohd Ridzuan Zulkafly, 40, Muhammad Zaimi Shariff, 39, and Muhammad Azizul Fitrie Md Zari, 23.
A Bentong fire and rescue department spokesman said the accident involved vehicles from both directions, where a trailer loaded with concrete beams travelling from Kuala Lumpur towards Bentong lost control before crashing into the three-tonne lorry. The trailer then crashed into a road divider, which caused the concrete debris to be scattered onto the opposite lane. This resulted in vehicles heading to Kuala Lumpur colliding with the concrete beams.
