Award season is approaching, and fans have long made their lists of which actors and actresses should be nominated in each category for the various prestigious award ceremonies. Yesterday (Monday, 9 December), the Golden Globes officially announced the full list of nominees for the 82nd Annual Golden Globe Awards, which will take place on 6th January 2025 (Malaysian time).

There are plenty of strong contenders this time around, so it’s anyone’s guess who will walk away with an award by the end of the night. For this list, we’ll focus on those nominated for the first time. Let’s take a look at who made the final cut:

1. Ariana Grande

She’s definitely Popular! After starring in her first major film role as the iconic Glinda in “Wicked”, Ariana Grande received her first nomination in the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture category. The singer reacted to the news on her Instagram saying, “I am floored and honoured to be recognised by the members of the Golden Globes. Crying (of course), I am simply, so deeply grateful for this acknowledgement. And congratulations to my brilliant, dear sister Cynthia Erivo and all of our Ozian family.”

2. Pamela Anderson

Can you believe that, after decades in the industry, Pamela Anderson has only just received a Golden Globe nomination? The “Baywatch” star earned the Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama nomination for her role in “The Last Showgirl”. The actress took to Instagram to express gratitude. “I share this beautiful nomination with ‘The Last Showgirl’ family; my family and hardworking companions. I wish everyone my love and thanks while I navigate this new exciting chapter,” she wrote.
