The Klang Valley’s nightlife is back and busier than ever, with new hangout spots popping up seemingly every other day! As this week comes to a close, we’re sure there are plenty of night owls (you know who you are) hunting for the next stamping grounds for cocktails and a damn good time!
Here are some of the latest and hottest night spots and events you should check out this weekend:
Alta Società
Located right in the center of Kuala Lumpur, just a few steps away from Suria KLCC, there’s a hidden casual cocktail bar where great minds meet, and that place is Alta Società. As busy people, we are often seeking an escape plan after a long day of work. This is where Alta Società comes in, a dimmed hidden bar with a charming bartender ready to make you a magical elixir to help you escape reality. Serving a wide range of customized crafted cocktails, drinks, wines and more, there is something for everyone. From the classic ones like Nuts Jobs and Not a Negroni, to Highballs to Cold infusion and Herbal cocktails, you’ll find the one and only cocktail that is written for you.
Besides serving customized cocktails for the urban people, they have a Wednesday Special – The Gentlewoman Night (Ladies night), when they offer FREE cocktails for all the ladies; and a Friday Special with a Monthly Thematic Dress up night (May would be NO PANTS DAY), when they serve a free cocktail to those dressed up for the theme.

Kokomo
Kokomo is the latest addition to Sri Hartamas’ cool array of restaurants and bars. This cocktail hangout spot boasts a variety of interesting cocktails infused with touches of local influence. Drinks served at Kokomo include Cane Cha which brings together sugarcane, herbal tea and vermouth; Corn in a Cup, where they combine bourbon with Mu Artisan soy sauce, corn, white vermouth, gula Melaka and soy milk.

Rākh
If you haven’t been to The Five in Bukit Damansara, you definitely should pay them a visit, as it’s easily one of KL’s most bustling spots at the moment. Among the many new eateries that have made The Five their home is Rākh. They describe themselves as “Asia’s First Culinary Cocktail Bar”, and they offer a selection of innovative cocktails infused with Indian spices and syrups with an elegant design. Expect ample seating space with a long terrazzo bar counter where all the magic happens.

Bar Triptyk
Bar Triptyk is located in one of the four remaining pre-war shophouses on Jalan Tuba. Describing themselves as a semi-zero waste bar, they are very conscious about the amount of waste they produce and they’re all about sustainability. The tables are made from recycled wood from the ceiling, and the bar itself is decorated with upcycled items. Even their drinks are made from salvaged food that would otherwise go to waste! Their menu consists of low-ABV and zero-proof cocktails, as well as a handful of bar snacks, coffee, tea, and wine.

Cherry Bomb
Those looking for something a lil more energetic can look forward to Cherry Bomb by Good Night KL! You can expect an explosive night with an all-female lineup featuring Aidaho, Jovynn, Ashley Lau, BB Bulan and Mia. Lose yourself in some deep, dark techno basslines and hypnotic house music as you party the night away at REXKL! The event will be taking place on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023.
