In conjunction with the 2nd phase of Malaysia’s movement control order (MCO), Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that free additional daily 1GB Internet data will be provided this month.
So whether you’re using Maxis, Digi, Yoodo, U Mobile or Tune Talk – find out how you can redeem more data below:
1. Digi
Starting on 1st April, all Digi prepaid and postpaid customers can enjoy free 1GB of data between 8am to 6pm:
- Postpaid – In the MyDigi app and go into the Rewards feature. There will be an option for you to redeem your 1GB free data.
- Prepaid – Also in the MyDigi app, go to the Box of Surprise feature and redeem it from there. Alternatively, users can redeem via the UMB shortcode by dialling *128#.
- Business – Digi business users will also enjoy the same free 1GB data daily offer between 8am to 6pm. This is also redeemable via the MyDigi app’s Rewards section.
- Also applicable to postpaid wireless broadband subscribers but excludes Digi Postpaid Infinite Plan users.
2. Maxis & Hotlink
Maxis Postpaid
MyMaxis App – Click on “Get More Data” and select Free 1GB/ Day Pass under Time Based Pass
Maxis Biz Postpaid
MyMaxis Biz App – Click on “Get More Data” and select Free 1GB/ Day Pass under Time Based Pass
Hotlink Flex Postpaid
Hotlink Flex App – Click on “Get More Data” and select Free 1GB/ Day Pass under Time Based Pass
Hotlink Prepaid
Hotlink RED App – Click on the Homepage Banner and select FREE 1GB / Day Pass or activate the Pass under ‘Shop’ tab
3. Celcom
All Celcom postpaid and prepaid customers will be able to enjoy this free data offer automatically.
4. U Mobile
All active customers (postpaid, prepaid, broadband) are eligible to receive the free data, provided your line remains active. To enjoy this offer, perform a one-time opt-in redemption via the UMB menu:
- Prepaid: Dial *118*6# and select Special Offer
- Postpaid: Dial *118*7# and select Special Offer
5. Tune Talk
In addition to the 20% top-up extra credit for prepaid reloads, the free 1GB data is available when you perform a one-time SMS opt-in by sending a text STAYHOME by SMS to 2222.
6. Yoodo
All active users can now enjoy free 1 GB Data every day. Unlike other telcos, the free data is accessible at anytime of the day.
