Former U-KISS member Alexander (알렉산더) recently revealed a shocking confession on the real reason behind his exit from the K-pop group.

The Hong Kong-born rapper made an appearance on the Youtube show “Jaykeeout x VWVB”, where he dished on his 3-year-long stint with the “Man Man Ha Ni” hit-makers.

The 32-year-old shared that he was actually kicked out of the group due to his lack of popularity among K-fans. According to him, “I was really upset about it back then. The company was telling me that U-KISS needed member changes, saying that the group wasn’t doing well enough. I was like ‘Huh?” They thought that we (the foreign members) weren’t talented in Korean language and said that the group needed more local members.”

“Ironically I was pissed, because we were doing a lot of overseas events and I was helping with that. I even taught them how to use Twitter with promoting our stuff,” Alexander told the YouTuber. He continued, “Basically, they were cutting me off from the group. They said, ‘Think about it Alexander, do you think you are popular in Korea? You are not popular.’ That’s what he said.”

“It’s a very sad reality. My aunt was really straightforward and talked to the CEO. Normally, it’s really hard for an artiste to leave or terminate their contract. I left the company and they released a statement saying I wanted to go back to school,” he further recalled.

For those who don’t know, Alexander made his K-pop debut with U-KISS in 2008 and released four EPs and one full album with the team. He left the group in 2011, along with member Kibum.
