There is sad news for fans of 1970s TVB because former TVB actress Ko Miu Sze (高妙思) has reportedly passed away after suffering from health issues. The late star was 69 at the time of her death.

Veteran Hong Kong media personality Wong Man Ling (汪曼玲), shared the devasting news, posting about Ko Miu Sze’s death on her Instagram. According to the post, Wong discovered the former TVB star’s passing after the latter couldn’t be contacted and even failed to attend gatherings. Her death was confirmed by her sisters, who revealed that Ko Miu Sze had been seriously ill before her passing. She died on 21st September 2024 (Saturday), but her exact cause of death was not mentioned.

Ko Miu Sze was best known for her role in the 1975 TVB drama, “Move On (乘風破浪)”, in which she starred alongside Angie Chiu (趙雅芝), Chong Man Ching (莊文清) and Rainbow Ching Ho Wai (程可為). The drama is considered one of TVB’s best works and helped kickstart the lead cast’s careers. The late actress would then go on to star in the historical drama ‘Chor Lau Heung (楚留香)”, alongside famed actor Adam Cheng (鄭少秋). The late actress was also a student of TVB’s first artist training class, which has grown to pave the way for many Hong Kong stars, including Andy Lau (劉德華) and Tony Leung (梁朝偉).

The late TVB actress would continue acting in various television series and movies until 1989. Ko Miu Sze then retired from the entertainment industry after she married a non-celebrity man and immigrated to Italy in the 1990s. The couple had no children together and remained married until her death. While she immigrated to Italy, the late star moved back to Hong Kong in recent years, occasionally appearing in the limelight after attending gatherings with former TVB co-stars.
