(Video) Foreign TikToker Blasts KLIA Security For “Forcing” Him To Buy Expensive Water

When travelling to a foreign country, it’s always wise to learn about the rules and laws of that country so you don’t end up doing anything illegal. For example, some countries such as our own are very strict when it comes to nudity so if you want to feel more liberated, then Malaysia probably isn’t the best place to go for a holiday.

No matter how bizarre or ridiculous certain rules and regulations can be, it’s best to just follow them rather than break them. This foreign TikToker was not happy when he found out about a certain rule at KLIA, but the response to his video was probably not what he expected.

| This is insane guys🤯🤯 like this they force you to buy water from the plane 3-4 times than normal price! Come on! This is water! #traveler #airport #travel #traveltok #Kulairport #asia #malaysiatiktok #kualalumpurmalaysia #malaysia #kualalumpur #traveling #travelaroundtheworld

Content creator Andreas Tomazou regularly posts videos from his travels around the world on TikTok. The Greek man has  visited around 50 countries with Malaysia being his latest visit. He posted several videos of his time in the country but his latest one has been getting a lot of attention – now gaining 91.2k views, and 1k comments. The video in question was of him complaining about a basic rule at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The traveller revealed that he was about to board the plane to his next destination when he was denied entry by security as he was carrying a water bottle with him. According to KLIA rules, passengers are not allowed to carry any filled liquid container that exceeds 100ml as it’s one of the items that may be used in improvised explosive devices. However, you may carry an empty liquid container in and fill it up after you pass security checks.

Obviously, this is for the safety of everyone on the plane. However, the TikToker claimed that this is the first time he’s come across this “unacceptable” rule. “This is crazy! I’ve never seen something like this. I’ve been to 50 countries and this is the first time I see something like this,” he said. After the video went viral, netizens, especially Malaysians, criticised the tourist for his behaviour and for not even knowing a basic rule when boarding a flight.

Andreas claimed that KLIA is the only airport to have this rule but he failed to realise that this is part of a standardised guideline in Asian, European, Australian as well as American airports. The guideline states that liquids such as aerosols, drinks, toothpaste, cosmetic creams, or gels must be carried in a transparent plastic bag or liquid container not exceeding 100 ml.
