Tapas (Appetisers)
Gambas al Ajillo
The night can never start without appetisers, or ‘Tapas’, and at Bocado, be prepared to have a wide array of different flavours to lead you up to the main course. We had the Gambas al Ajillo, a staple in many tapas bars and restaurants. The combination of fresh shrimp, sizzling garlic, and a hint of spice really prepared our tastebuds for the rest of the mean and it made us understand why Gambas Al Ajillo is such a beloved dish.
Croquetas
Next up was the deep-fried delicacy of mushroom bechamel paired with a black truffle mayonnaise. The outer layer was perfectly fried and the filling of mushroom bechamel was soft and melted in our mouth. The flavour of the filling went perfectly with the combination of the crispy layer to create a delicious balance.
Albondigas de Cordero
We also had the Albondigas de Cordero which were juicy, tender, flavourful and just plain tasty. These lamb meatballs stewed in a herbed tomato sauce were finished off with smoked Spanish Idiazabal cheese & pine nuts, offering the most tantalising flavour to our taste buds.
Arcachofas
If you’ve never had a fried artichoke, then Bocado is the place to go to experience your first time! The steakhouse fries the artichoke, offering crispy and well-seasoned healthy appetisers. It’s served with potatoes celery puree, asparagus salad and their homemade aioli. While it wasn’t the texture we were expecting, it instantly became our favourite from the menu.
Mains
Paella de Marisco
For the mains, be captivated by the Spanish delicacy, Paella de Marisco. Bocado’s version of the dish was the perfect blend of flavours and fresh seafood. They really proved that the recipe was perfectly crafted to make sure all flavours create a balance for your taste buds. From the texture of the rice to the freshness of each seafood item, this dish is definitely a must-order when you visit.
Costillas de Cordero
For all the meat lovers, the Costillas de Cordero from the land down under is a must-try. This exquisite lamb dish is served with roasted baby potatoes, Escalivada, and a rich black pepper sauce. Cooked to perfection according to your preference, each tender bite offers a tantalising mix of flavours, complemented by the roasted baby potatoes and the vibrant Escalivada. To elevate your dining experience, Bocado recommends pairing this dish with their exceptional red wine sangria to create a harmonious blend of flavours that will leave you craving more.
Chuleton de Angus
Steak lovers will also revel in the succulent Australian Angus, perfectly paired with baby potatoes, black pepper sauce, and Escalivada.
