If you didn’t know, BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) member Lisa (리사) is a fashion girl through and through, and she doesn’t just shop the luxury labels. Recently, the idol was seen wearing a pair of ballet sneakers from a small Filipino brand.
Over the weekend, BLACKPINK performed in Singapore as part of their “Deadline” world tour. While the rest of the concert sees the members in flashy stage outfits, the encore segment usually shows the girls in casual concert merch. Each member also often adds their unique spin to their looks, changing up the accessories and hairstyles.
On the third and final day of the Singapore show, Lisa stepped out onto the encore stage in a customised t-shirt and denim shorts. However, it was her ballet sneakers that caught fans’ attention. As ballet sneakers and flats are in trend, many had assumed that the idol wore a pair from a renowned brand. As it turns out, the shoes were from the Filipino brand GVN.
The brand is primarily known for its bags, but it also has a range of ballet sneakers. Lisa was wearing the Ballet Sneakers in Chrome, priced at 2,900PHP (approximately RM205). Many Filipino BLINKs were surprised to learn that Lisa was repping a local brand. However, they quickly expressed interest in getting a pair of the shoes to match the idol.
GVN have since reacted to the star sporting their brand, writing in an Instagram post, “WE ARE AT A LOSS FOR WORDS !!” The brand also revealed that someone from Lisa’s team reached out to do a pull-out of the shoes when they were in the Philippines last month. While the GVN team said they were sceptical, they decided to try for a possible spotlight from Lisa.
