8 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Miss Djakarta Warehouse Project 2018

by Justin
October 23, 2018
Djakarta Warehouse Project

What’s up party people? In case you missed it, Djakarta Warehouse Project, a festival which aims to bring the best music experience to the Indonesian grounds, will be back on December and we honestly can’t wait!

For its 10th instalment, DWP or rather, DWPX, is going to be bigger and better in so many ways that you could never even think of. It will be one of Asia’s most talked about musical events of the year, and we’re going to share 8 reasons on why you should get your tickets before it’s too late:

1. Phenomenal Line-up

First of all, let’s start with the stellar line-up. Although the festival mainly promotes electronic music, this time around, DWP welcomes RnB powerhouse The Weeknd who is scheduled to tour Asia at the time. *Cue happy tears* Who doesn’t love Abel, right? This will be the Canadian singer’s Indonesian debut, in which he will share the stage with various talented musicians the likes of Mura Masa, Bauuer, Major Lazer and many more.

2. Three days of good music

This year, Djakarta Warehouse Project will expand the party from 8th to 10th December 2018, which means that festival goers will get to experience three full days of excellent music! However, DWP allows buyers to purchase separate daily tickets in case you’re super busy and couldn’t find the time to take three days of leave from school, work or life commitments.

3. Indoor arenas

We’re not sure if this is a common setting at international music festivals, but we certainly have never had an indoor stage arena in Malaysia. It is one thing to have a sheltered area for festival goers, but imagine going to a music festival that has AIR-CONDITIONED sections – it’s like heaven. The best part is, you don’t even have to care about rain, risk ruining your shoes in the mud or (for the ladies) getting your makeup melted by excessive sweating.

4. Bali

You read that right. Festival goers can expect to see an upgrade in DWP’s usual venue at JIEXPO Jakarta to the picturesque island of Bali, where it will be housed in a new home at Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Jimbaran. We can’t tell if this is a permanent change or a one time thing, but we sure are excited!

5. Party with the biggest sculpture in the world

What’s more, you’ll be happy to find that you will not only get the best of music, but a chance to connect with spiritual vibes through Indonesia’s cultural icon, The Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue. The showpiece is a gigantic installation depicting the benevolent Hindu god Vishnu riding on the back of the mythical garuda eagle.

So exciting! Here’s a little fun fact: The 121-meter tall sculpture was finally completed on 22nd September 2018 after 28 years of waiting, making it the largest building in Indonesia and the world’s second tallest.

6. Food

Ask anyone who has been to Bali and they will tell you that Jimbaran is arguably best known for its beachfront seafood restaurants. If you’re worried about money, do some research online and a full fancy meal set with fish and lobster for two starts from around RM80, depending on which restaurant you visit.

7. Beach

Another jewel of Bali’s attraction are the beaches in Jimbaran which have amazing coastal ambiences, perfect for spending your festival mornings with your friends. Remember, a good trip is to surf at the beach, not spending all day surfing the internet.

8. Award winning bars with amazing views

If it’s anything that Bali is famous for, is it’s phenomenal nightlife. For those who wants to continue on to wee hours with cold beers and cheers under the stars after the festival ends, you can find luxurious bars to enjoy a bird’s eye-view over the heights of Bali’s southern Bukit peninsula basically anywhere around the city.

With that, if you wish to join in on the fun, do yourself a favour by visiting http://www.djakartawarehouse.com/ to purchase your tickets a.s.a.p! See you there ?
