Although it has never been officially confirmed by the idol herself, BLACKPINK’s Lisa (리사) appears to be in a happy relationship with LVMH Watches’ chief executive, Frédéric Arnault. Even Tan Sri Dato’ Michelle Yeoh hinted at their romance in a recent Instagram post. Before the businessman entered the picture, however, there were rumours that the rapper had dated a fellow idol, specifically, someone who was previously under the same label.
Following the release of her new short film “DREAM”, starring Kentaro Sakaguchi, fans noticed similarities between her lyrics and those of another singer, as though they were speaking to each other. So, who is this mystery ex-boyfriend? Let’s find out.

Fans have been flooding social media to discuss Lisa’s new music video and short film for her song “DREAM”. Many have praised the visuals, the acting, and her chemistry with the popular Japanese actor. One of the main topics of discussion was the identity of her ex-boyfriend, who may have inspired the song. Many suggested it could be ONE (정제원) (also known as Jaewon), a former YG Entertainment idol.
The speculation arose from similarities between the lyrics of the BLACKPINK member’s “DREAM” and the male singer’s “Last Cigarette”. Fans believe the Thai artist may have been responding to his song through her own lyrics, as they appear to align closely. In addition, some fans pointed out that the date Lisa posted photos of a lake (a prominent image in the short film) was around the same time ONE released his album “PRVT 01”, a project centred on separation and loss.
Speaking of lakes, during a 2019 interview to promote “Goodbye Summer”, the series he starred in that year, ONE said he would like to be reborn as a body of water (a river or lake), emphasising the peaceful environment and the way sunlight sparkles on the surface. His character in the series was also suffering from a terminal illness. Fans noted how oddly specific this detail is in Lisa’s “DREAM” film, in which Kentaro Sakaguchi gives a similar answer before passing away.

The rapper also once shared Post Malone’s song “Goodbye” on her Instagram Story, around the time ONE left YG Entertainment. While these theories may sound plausible, unless either idol opens up about their past relationships, there is no way to verify whether they actually dated. What do you think? Do you believe these two used to be lovers, or were the lyrics and imagery in the “DREAM” short film purely coincidental?
