BTS’s (방탄소년단) comeback activities are in full force, with the K-pop sensations recently appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon”. Unfortunately, fans who attended the taping said the event was a horrifying experience.
Earlier today (26th March 2026, Thursday), a fan took to Twitter to share their experience at the taping, in which they called out the show’s staff for alleged “cruel” treatment. In the series of tweets, they detailed how the fans were transported from the show’s studio at the NBC Studios to the Guggenheim Museum for a special taping of BTS’s “Swim” performance. The fan also noted that the staff has locked fans’ phones, likely to prevent filming.

While they noted that the performance itself was great, the fan revealed that not all fans who attended the taping got to watch it live. Instead, the show’s staff only picked a few fans at random to see the BTS members in person. The staff then locked the rest of the crowd in a room away from the filming site and only got to see the performance through a live stream. The filming also reportedly took hours to complete.
The fan said they were under the impression that the other fans would also have the chance to see BTS in person. However, despite multiple takes and hours of filming, the “The Tonight Show” crew never switched out the groups, so only that handful of people got to interact with the group. The fan expressed disappointment at the situation, adding that they felt betrayed and were left traumatised.

Other accounts of the situation also claimed that the fans then had to arrange their own transportation after the taping, despite never being told in advance about heading to the Guggenheim Museum. Many users have reacted to the post, expressing sympathy for the fans. Some also urged “The Tonight Show” to issue an apology, noting how many fans were affected by their poor management of the taping.
As of now, neither the show nor BTS’s side has addressed the allegations. However, many fans say they will no longer support the show, despite BTS’s close relationship with the program and Jimmy Fallon.
