Malaysian fans of The Sidemen will soon be able to try the popular YouTube collective’s famous fried chicken and burgers close to home. Sides, the fast-food restaurant chain founded by the British content creators, has officially announced plans for an international expansion that includes Kuala Lumpur on its upcoming roster of global destinations.
The brand shared the news via its official social media channels, confirming that it is expanding its footprint to four major international cities: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; New Cairo, Egypt; Kuwait City, Kuwait; and Mumbai, India. While an exact opening date and local storefront location have not yet been disclosed, the announcement has already generated significant excitement among regional fans who previously had to travel overseas to try the menu.
Founded by internet personalities KSI, Miniminter, Zerkaa, TBJZL, Behzinga, Vikkstar123, and W2S, who command millions of subscribers worldwide, Sides leans into the group’s massive digital footprint to serve up comfort food favorites. The menu features a variety of fried chicken sandwiches, tenders, wings, and signature dipping sauces. Local fans can expect further updates regarding the grand opening timeline and venue specifics as the rollout progresses.

The group was founded on 19th October 2013 after the original five; JJ Olatunji (KSI), Simon Minter (Miniminter), Joshua Bradley (Zerkaa), Tobi Brown (TBJZL) and Ethan Payne (Behzinga) had formed a clan on GTA V when it was first introduced after playing it for a couple of months. Behzinga had named it the Ultimate Sidemen to make a joke that Miniminter was KSI’s “sideman” and TBJZL was Zerkaa’s as they were less popular than their childhood friends. Vikram Barn (Vikkstar123) was added to the group after a few months when the group needed technical assistance and he decided to stick around after seeing how much fun he was having with the group. The same was said for Harry Lewis (Wroetoshaw) who was added for a few sessions and later joined in 2014.
Over the last 13 years, the group have rose to unimaginable fame, reaching heights that they would’ve never imagined with over 30 million subscribers across their main and second channel, hundreds of millions of views across individual videos, 7 sold out football charity matches that raised over a million pounds each time for charity (including 2 matches at Wembley Stadium), multiple reality tv-shows on Netflix, their own clothing brand, their own venture capital startup that helps promising businesses, their fast-food chain of course, collectible collaborations with Youtooz and Topps and of course claiming the title of one-of if not the best group on Youtube.

Unfortunately 7 became 6 after KSI publicly announced that he will no longer be part of the group due to feeling he could not cope with the scheduling anymore and wanted to spend more time with his family. This caused confusion over their large fanbase and the internet as a similar event had occurred in 2017 which was staged for their infamous “disstrack era”, but this time after a few days of silence, the group themselves confirmed the news while saying they wish they had the opportunity to give him the proper send off he deserved and in the end wishing him well. There have been many rumblings over some altercations behind the scenes but none of that was made public, with both KSI and the Sidemen continuing on their own paths.
The apparently large Malaysian audience of the Sidemen will for sure be excited especially after one branch had opened in neighboring Singapore a while back.
