What does it take to get a celeb to appear at an event? A lot of cash. And we recently discovered these five Hong Kong artists appearance fees, which needless to say, left us open-mouthed.

In this day and age, everyone wants to be a celebrity— and it’s not just for the fame. There’s plenty of money to be made, as evident by these Hong Kong artists’ appearance fees. They range from five to six-digit numbers, but we were quite surprised by who charges the most!

1. Tavia Yeung (杨茜尧, Yeung Yi, 杨怡)

Tavia Yeung has cemented herself as one of TVB’s better actresses, especially with her performance in villain roles. She is best known for her work in “Vigilante Force (智勇新警界)”, “Moonlight Resonance (溏心風暴之家好月圓)” which she won Best Supporting Actress for, and “Silver Spoon, Sterling Shackles (名媛望族)” which she won Best Actress for. With her elegant temperament and highly-praised acting skills, Tavia charges 180,000 CN¥ (~RM115,000) for her appearance fee.

2. Linda Chung (锺嘉欣)

Canadian-born Hong Kong actress Linda Chung isn’t one to lose out to Tavia Yeung, despite debuting in 2004, five years after Tavia. Linda, who signed on with TVB after winning Miss Chinese International Pageant made her own name with memorable performances in “Forensic Heroes (法证先锋)”, “Heart Of Greed (溏心風暴)” and “A Journey Called Life (金石良缘)”.

After her brief hiatus, Linda returned with a bang in ” Kids’ Lives Matter (星空下的仁醫)” which won her the Best TVB Actress award. For Linda, her appearance fee costs 220,000 CN¥ (~RM140,000).

3. Charmaine Sheh (佘诗曼)

There’s no denying how much TVB actress Charmaine Sheh has accomplished. She’s been a fan-favourite with works such as “Return of the Cuckoo (十月初五的月光)”, “War and Beauty (金枝慾孽)” and “Story of Yanxi Palace (延禧攻略)”. Her appearance fee is nothing to scoff at, a hefty sum of 520,000CN¥ (~RM332,000). Still, her popularity prevails as the 48-year-old is often invited to various events.

4. Cecilia Cheung (张柏芝)

If we’re talking about popular Hong Kong stars, Cecilia Cheung is of course, a staple to the list. She may be in her early forties and juggling three kids, but the actress is still highly regarded as an actress and highly respected. Although her appearance in films is rare now, she’s still active in the entertainment scene, focusing more on variety shows and events. But, reportedly, she’ll only accept large-scale events and charges 1.5 million CN¥ (~RM959,000) for an appearance.

5. Gloria Tang aka G.E.M. (邓诗颖)

Singer-songwriter G.E.M. may be the youngest on the list, but her value is far higher than her peers! G.E.M. dubbed “铁肺歌后 (Iron Lung Queen)” after her performance in her single “Bubble (泡沫)”, has been steadily developing her career in China after participating in the second season of “I Am A Singer (我是歌手)” in 2014.

This led to a comeback for her popularity and now, her appearance fee amounts to a hefty sum of 2.4 million CN¥ (~RM1.5 million)! Additionally, it seems that, like Cecilia Cheung, she’ll only accepts performances for large-scale events and has certain conditions befitting of her “status” in the industry.

Well, if you ever spot any one of these artists at an event, you now know that they don’t come cheap! So, be sure to enjoy the event, it’ll should definitely be worth the money.
