It sure was a happy day for those who had attended a special fan meeting in Malaysia on 10th Jan 2014 at KL Live, Kuala Lumpur. TGM Events collaborated with Acer Malaysia to kick start 2015 with the first K-Pop showcase of the year with South Korean 5-member boy group B1A4.
The boys last performed in Malaysia 2 years ago during the “Samsung GALAXY The 27th Golden Disk Awards in Kuala Lumpur”, where fans witnessed the group winning the “Disk Album of The Year” award. At that time, it was their third visit to Malaysia as they were previously here to perform for 2011’s MOA Live in Malaysia and 2012’s “one FM THE ONE Concert”.
With the constant support from their Malaysian fans aka BANAs, the boys were lucky enough to perform in Malaysia again for the 4th time this year.
Even though the special fanmeeting started at 6pm, fans were already queuing outside the venue, forming long lines from as early as sometime in the morning. Some fans from overseas even came all the way to Malaysia for the show!
VVIP ticket holders were given priority entrance into the concert venue according to the numbers assigned to them while VIP ticket holders went in after. Once they were inside the venue, some enthusiastic fans started to build up the hype by singing along to B1A4’s songs that were being played in the hall while waiting for the rest to fill up the venue. Local celebrity Bernard Hiew, who is also the emcee of the night, helped to heat up the stage before the boys came on stage in their suits.
The boys began their fanmeeting with their debut track, “OK” and charmed the fans with their energy-filled choreography on stage. After which, the boys performed “Beautiful Target”, another song that had all the fans singing along. After performing 2 songs in a row, the boys took a break and finally greeted their Malaysian fans with, “Apa Khabar!” before introducing themselves briefly in Bahasa Malaysia.
B1A4’s Baro even made a cute mistake while introducing himself when he said, “Name kaya Baro” instead of “Nama saya Baro”. Fans immediately corrected his mistake and Baro took the opportunity to introduce himself again while Sandeul attempted to introduce himself.
The boys also expressed their utmost gratitude to the fans who came out to see them even though they haven’t performed in Malaysia since 2013. Sandeul added a sweet touch to his fan service by showing concern to B1A4 fans as he was aware that some parts of Malaysia were affected by one of the worst floods in the history.The boys then proceeded to perform another 8 songs with a few breaks and game sessions in between.
B1A4 members also did a short Q&A session and picked a few lucky fans to to go up on stage based on the questions they have left on a memo board. Baro simply said, “No!” when a fan asked if they have a role in upcoming dramas this year while a fan requested CNU to give her mother a hug. Sandeul even reenacted a scene by performing a hip thrust from his 3rd musical “All Shook Up“. The highlight of the night went to a game session called “Pop Pop parody”, where fans were asked to reenact a romantic scene from Korean drama series such as “You Who Came From The Stars” and “Doctor Stranger”.
After the game session, the boys continued to perform some of their hit singles including “Pretty”, “Solo Day”, “What’s Happening”, “Baby Good Night”, and so on. Each and every single one of them definitely spoiled the fans with excellent fan service by throwing playful winks at the fans. CNU even took some of the fan’s iPhone to take a selfie before returning it back to her. Baro received much attention from the fans for his incredible rapping performances and as usual, Sandeul impressed the crowd with his powerhouse vocals.
It was evident that the boy put in a lot of effort to connect with their fans by speaking both in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Baro even dropped a bomb by announcing that they are currently preparing a new album and asked fans to wait for their comeback. They continued to thank everyone for their supports and expressed that they are happy to be able to spend 2015 with the Malaysian fans. They also promised that they will continue to work hard in the future.
One of the most memorable parts of the fanmeeting was when fans united to shout fanchants during their “Baby Good Night” performance. After a high-touch session with the VIP and VVIP ticket holders, B1A4 ended the night with a sweet performance of “You Are My Girl” for an encore session

The 2-hour fanmeeting was definitely worth going for as the boys managed to give a lot of fan service to Malaysian BANAs. Having seen them so many times in the past ourselves, the boys have never once disappointed us because of their humble attitudes and incredible performances.
