Fans of former Chinese boyband ENERGY member Joe Chang Shu-wei (张书伟) will either be delighted or disappointed to know that after years of his boyband days, he is finally tying the knot! Who’s the lucky lady? Why his girlfriend, actress Orange Hsieh (谢京颖), of course!
Yesterday (1st October), it was revealed that Joe Chang and Orange Hsieh would be registering their marriage by the end of the year. However, Joe was gracious enough to divulge a few more details during a recent event, such as how he proposed to Orange and their rough wedding plans.
As they are only a year apart, it’s no surprise to discover that Joe and Orange have always seen eye-to-eye on matters of the heart. It would certainly explain how Joe’s ‘proposal’ went well with Orange! The actor shared that he hadn’t actually proposed. In fact, his ‘proposal’ had been informal and definitely more on the spur of the moment.
Joe claimed that he had proposed to Orange one night, when he felt both of them were ready for the next step in their relationship. He waited till they were both in bed before he popped the question by pulling out the household register from a drawer and showing it to Orange. “Would you like to fill this space?” he reportedly asked.
The diamond ring he had planned as their ring was allegedly not ready, yet Orange didn’t hesitate to say yes to his question. Joe later added that Orange was not pregnant with his child. “Orange is very tolerant of me. I have a short temper,” he shared. “It isn’t easy for my partner to tolerate me like this.”
As for their wedding plans, well, Joe revealed that they are planning to register their marriage in December, roughly seven months after it was revealed they were dating. Joe also stated that he hopes to hold their wedding before the Lunar New Year.
Congrats to the couple! Like many others, we too are looking forward to seeing Joe Chang and Orange Hsieh tie the knot soon.
