Earlier this week, local brand Elrah Exclusive and its founder, El Azman, received backlash after Malaysian influencer Tyra Kamaruzzaman accused the brand of plagiarising a family sampin design. Before the issue has time to calm down, the brand faces yet another plagiarism accusation.
After Tyra’s social post went viral, local fashion designer Hafizi Woo also accused Elrah Exclusive of plagiarising his work. Through his Threads account, the FIZIWOO founder claimed he kept silent about the brand’s plagiarism for a while. Hafizi said he didn’t want to prolong the issue, suggesting that El Azman has been copying other designers’ work for a long time. The designer also shared comparison photos to prove the similarities.

According to the photos he shared, Hafizi accused Elrah Exclusive of copying his design from FIZIWOO’s 2023 Raya Collection for the latter brand’s KURTA FAWWAZ collection, released in early 2025. The similarity is most notable at the collar, showcasing a unique design for the otherwise traditional menswear. Hafizi also accused the brand of copying a design element from one of FIZIWOO’s sampin designs.
Media personality Caprice also brought more attention to the plagiarism claims after sharing Hafizi’s post on his Instagram account. The issue has since gone viral, evoking backlash towards El Azman and his brand. Many brought up the brand’s ongoing matter with Tyra, arguing that the designer has no originality. Others also urged Elrah Exclusive’s celebrity ambassadors to cut ties with the company.

It’s worth mentioning that Elrah Exclusive hasn’t resolved Tyra’s previous plagiarism accusation. El Azman has since responded to the issue, denying the plagiarism allegations. However, his response wasn’t well-received, with many pointing out flaws in his statement.
As of writing, El Azman hasn’t addressed the new allegations from Hafizi. What are your thoughts on this?
