She’s a social media personality, an entrepreneur, and model. Venice Min kicked off her modelling career even before graduating from high school.
In the span of a decade, the Penang-born beauty has walked on international runways, become the face of top skincare brands and appeared on countless media platforms. Her latest project? Finding a new star for The Face Shop. But before that, let’s get to know her a little better.
1. She started working at the tender age of 15!
Having learnt ballet since she was 4 years old, Venice started teaching ballet classes at the young age of 15 as a professional ballet graduate. Point those toes, girl! Working hard has always been a big part of her life, whether it was modelling or studying – Venice’s modelling career began even before she graduated from high school but she also realised that education was as important. Not one to give excuses, Venice self-funded her way through college by working very, very hard and taking up a PTPTN loan.
2. She loves being a female entrepreneur and believes in women empowerment.
Venice started investing in businesses when she was 20 years old and has always been fascinated with the corporate world. Her role model is her aunt, whom she admires as a smart, capable and independent businesswoman.
At 23, she started her first advertising and production agency. When she faced some obstacles due to some unforeseen circumstances, Venice did not give up, picked herself up and started all over without any assistance from others – that’s the kind of ‘can-do’ spirit she has! What’s more, she’s proud to be an example to other women entrepreneurs as she understands how hard it can be, what failure looks like, and how to pull yourself back up!
3. She has a secret talent… or two… or three.
Venice was an experienced school athlete, always achieving the top three positions for track events like 4x100m. Her love for speed eventually led her to racing cars, and until today she is still a car enthusiast. Plus, not only is she a successful business woman, Venice also knows how to whip up a delicious curry chicken dish from scratch!
4. She has a ‘super cool’ skincare routine.
In Malaysia’s hot weather, Venice loves to keep her face masks in the fridge so they feel deliciously cold when she puts them on and freshens up her face. Thumbs up if you do the same?
5. She’s not just a pretty face but works very hard to achieve her dreams!
Venice Min calls herself a “kuli” behind the scenes and is a self-confessed “super workaholic who works 7 days a week”. She believes that hard work, determination and perseverance are the keys to success.
From her early days of travelling back and forth between KL and Penang for photoshoots, to starting her business all over again, she is a real powerhouse who achieved her dreams and more – just look at where she is now! In fact, seeing her business grow only motivates her to work harder every day!
