This August and September, DoubleTree by Hilton, Malaysia brings that journey to life with Flavours of Malaysia, a first-of-its-kind nationwide dining campaign where seven Makan Kitchen restaurants each step beyond their own locality to champion the cuisine of a different Malaysian state. More than simply recreating regional favourites, the campaign celebrates the stories, traditions and people behind every dish, inviting guests to discover the rich diversity that defines Malaysian food culture.
Running from 1st August to 30th September 2026, guests can embark on a cross-country culinary experience featuring thoughtfully curated menus inspired by Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Melaka, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah and Sarawak. Across the campaign, chefs have looked beyond recipes, drawing from childhood memories, hometown traditions and family influences to create menus that honour the authenticity and heritage of each featured destination.
Diners can look forward to signature creations such as Imperial Lotus Braised Duck Encased in Clay inspired by Kuala Lumpur, Penang Char Kway Teow with Duck Egg, Free-range Ayam Kapitan from Melaka, Ayam Masak Tuha from Perak, Lompap Lamb Short Ribs representing Negeri Sembilan, Gulai Daging Rias Pisang from Kedah, and contemporary Sarawak-inspired dishes including Tempra Prawns with Bean Curd Chap Chye and Sea Grapes. Each menu is further complemented by traditional desserts and local favourites that reflect the character and heritage of the featured state.
More than a showcase of regional cuisine, Flavours of Malaysia celebrates the role food plays in preserving culture and creating meaningful connections. Every menu tells a story of cherished family recipes, local ingredients, community traditions and memories shared around the dining table, offering guests an opportunity to experience Malaysia’s culinary identity from a fresh perspective.
