As everyone knows, 31st August was Merdeka Day and Malaysians got a brief respite from life to celebrate. While each Malaysian had their own way of celebrating, it turns out, they weren’t the only ones doing so.
Hwang So-hee (황소희) aka DJ Soda recently arrived in Malaysia as she has some events planned here. As such, the ever-popular DJ was around for Merdeka day. However, instead of passively watching Malaysians celebrate, DJ Soda decided to join in on the fun and gifted Malaysians a dance in honour of the day!
The 34-year-old uploaded a video of herself doing a dance at Dataran Merdeka in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. She was wearing a tight-fitting white baju kebaya with golden shoes. The video started with her giving the camera a bright smile as she began her adorable dance.
DJ Soda captioned her video with a cheery: “Happy Merdeka Malaysia!” which pleased many netizens. “Beautiful and cute dance,” one commented. Others thanked her, with one netizens saying, “Thank you Soda, by the way, I’m (from) Malaysia.” A comment even pointed out that a MyVi had passed by in the background, delighting them.
The DJ has been fairly busy these past few months with festivals and appearances. In fact, she previously had plans to perform in Malaysia in July. However, due to some complications, she was forced to postpone them to October.
DJ Soda will be performing at the Borneo Music Festival Live 2022 in the Sarawak Cultural Village on 9th and 10th September. We sincerely hope she had a good time in Malaysia and hope her next performance won’t end with another injury again!
