Disney Gives Dwayne Johnson The Boot Amidst $3 Billion Kidnapping Lawsuit

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has been accused of many things throughout his career in Hollywood, namely his chokehold over the movie industry and how the former wrestler has ruined any franchise he touches. However, who would have thought that another title that The Rock would add to his already extensive list would be “kidnapper?”

Fellow ex-wrestler Trenesha Biggers, also known as Rhaka Khan, has filed a $3 billion (~RM13,752,000,000) lawsuit against Johnson and various other actors, wrestlers, industries, and even entire states, the details of which can all be read here. Despite having no solid evidence to support her outrageous claim, Johnson has been receiving the guilty-until-proven-innocent treatment. Furthermore, it seems Hollywood got the last laugh, as some started breaking away from the actor because of the lawsuit.

Biggers filed the lawsuit back in October of 2022; the case has largely stayed dormant until February 2023, when an official investigation was fully launched to verify the validity of the TNA wrestler’s claims. She alleges that The Rock and various other entities conspired to kidnap her and her children. Johnson is on especially thin ice, as he was fingered as the mastermind and ringleader behind the alleged kidnapping.

The case is still pushing through because Biggers paid all her court fees in full, allowing the lawsuit to take effect. If, in some twist, Biggers is able to win the lawsuit, it would leave the actor penniless along with several other figures. As per reports, Johnson is already feeling the squeeze and is experiencing all sorts of problems because of it, as Disney ended their partnership with him for all future productions and movies.

There have been talks of a live-action remake of the popular 2016 movie Moana, and it has been met with a mixed reception. And though the rumours have not yet manifested into facts, plans for the live-action Moana might grind to a sudden halt because of this decision. And though there is no concrete evidence to support the claim that Disney is boycotting Johnson, the company is known to sever ties with actors the moment they are involved in controversy – similar to how Johnny Depp was fired from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise amidst the Amber Heard lawsuit.
