First things first, on behalf of Hype.My, I’d like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year. I hope you all had a wonderful time welcoming the 2015. Now on to the good stuff.
BitTorrent started off as a peer-to-peer file sharing site, similar to the likes of the recently shut down PirateBay. But over the recent years, BitTorrent has gone to amazing lengths to rebrand itself as the premier, and legal, way to share files quickly with your peers. This, can be seen with BitTorrent’s most recent online facelift which brings to mind a re-imagined world of music downloading.
From albums, remix packages, and discographies, BitTorrent has released a variety of material for high-profile musicians over the last year. Now, they have unveiled their BitTorrent Report showcasing the most downloaded artistes and music bundles throughout 2014. The report covers a huge range of statistics that show thought-provoking trends across the users of BitTorrent and what they look for between music and movies.
Now, the list may not display who the most downloaded musicians are across the entire Internet, but it does contain plenty of EDM artistes and plenty of others including:

Although BitTorrent allows patrons to grab music for free, over 6.5 million users purchased content via their paygate option. The crazy thing about BitTorrent’s new setup with paygate is that 90 percent of the profits actually go to the artistes who’s music they put out. This amazing new reinvigoration of torrent clients has done what BitTorrent believes is bringing back the “records” and making them the “last record store”.
