Affiliate links are an easy way for people to earn a side income through commissions from promoting a product or a service. Many local Twitter users have been using affiliates to earn an income through their social media accounts – but now, netizens are slamming these accounts after a Twitter user promoted the shampoo brand Moist Diane.

In her tweet, @/Zaiquzai claimed the Moist Diane shampoo works great for those with hair fall, thinning hair and dandruff issues. She added, “A week of using (this shampoo), my dandruff is gone. Baby hairs start appearing, (and) hair is getting fuller.”

She then continues to promote the shampoo and its entire range while slipping in a few of her Shopee and Lazada affiliate links in her Twitter thread. While it seems like your typical product review and affiliate link promotion, many netizens weren’t happy with the user because of the shampoo she promoted.

Many replies under the Twitter thread said that the brand is not as effective as the user claims. Contrary to Zaiquzai’s claim that the shampoo makes her hair grow, others say that the shampoo caused their hair fall issues to worsen. Due to the overwhelming amount of comments negating her claims, many netizens slammed the Twitter account, saying she shouldn’t promote or overclaim an ineffective product solely to earn commissions.

However, some netizens vouched for the brand, saying Moist Diane shampoos work fine for their hair. Some said that while the shampoo might not be great for hair loss, it does provide a long-lasting fragrance. These different opinions led to some condemning the comments criticising Zaiquzai for promoting the brand, adding that Moist Diana might work for the user, so there’s no need to bash her if her opinions don’t align with others.

Overall, many netizens argue that affiliate link promoters should at least try the product before promoting it instead of lying to the public about its effectiveness to earn a commission. Do you agree with these comments?
