K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER (베이비몬스터) has been doing quite well lately. The girls are currently on their Love Monsters fan concert tour, which is scheduled to run until 2026. However, in case you didn’t know, one member has been on an indefinite hiatus for some time.
Since May this year, main vocalist Rami (라미) has stepped away from group activities due to health concerns, specifically a lung condition, according to an official statement from YG Entertainment. There has been no update on when she will return to rejoin her bandmates, but fans have recently noticed something concerning about her absence. Here’s the story:

Earlier this week, a behind-the-scenes video was uploaded to BABYMONSTER’s official YouTube channel, showing the members preparing for and performing on music shows to promote their single “WE GO UP.” Normally, this would delight fans, offering a glimpse into the idols’ hectic yet exciting schedules. However, some noticed that one member appeared to have no screen time during the intro.
One Twitter user claimed that Rami had been edited or blurred out from the video’s intro, which featured BABYMONSTER during the group’s “SHEESH” and “DRIP” eras. This sparked concern among fans, who believe YG Entertainment is gradually erasing the singer’s contributions and accused the agency of failing to acknowledge her as an active member of the group while she’s on hiatus. Others also pointed out previous instances where certain idols under the company were edited out of existing group materials.

While YG Entertainment has been criticised in the past for some questionable decisions, this may not be one of those instances. Some fans argued that the latest behind-the-scenes video focused mainly on the 6 active members, as they are the ones currently promoting the “WE GO UP” EP. This explanation makes sense, given that it was previously confirmed that Rami did not take part in the recording process for the mini-album.
Others pointed out that Rami was not actually blurred out in the video’s intro, as some had claimed, but acknowledged that she only appeared very briefly. Many have since urged YG Entertainment to provide an update on the main vocalist’s current health condition and clarify her future in the group. Whatever the case, fans’ concerns are understandable, given that Rami has been out of the spotlight for months. Here’s hoping YG Entertainment shares an update on her soon.
