According to the Ministry of Health, one is a 34-year-old man, who was in attendance at the tabligh assembly in Sri Petaling. The Malaysian man started showing symptoms on 5th March before he was diagnosed on 12th March, where he sought treatment at Hospital Permai in Johor.

His condition got worse after that and he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Unfortunately, he couldn’t fight any longer and lost his life to coronavirus. His identity remains anonymous.

Similarly, another victim was a 60-year-old patient who passed away this morning at 11am. David Cheng was a pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Kuching. His son left a message on Facebook thanking friends and family for their support and prayers.

While he has tested negative for Covid-19, his mother and sister have tested positive. He said, “My dad will be cremated later today and because of the lockdown, how the memorial service would be done may be very different.”

He added, “As of now, I’m concern more of my mom and sis and pray that their immunity will clear it without any further complications. Pray with me, for my health too that I won’t be tested positive and my sister and mom will be ok. We will come out stronger. Thank you.”

Pastor David developed symptoms on 7th March and was admitted to Sarawak General Hospital. It was previously shared that last Sunday’s church service was cancelled. Meanwhile, 193 close contacts of the deceased are currently undergoing quarantine at home.
