What Happened When A Customer Asked For 52% Discount To Install Air-Cond

If you want good quality services or products, then you’ll probably need to invest a good sum of money for these things. However, it’s common for people to pay less and demand more. That’s not fair to the people who are trying to make a living. Sometimes being too stingy or thrifty might come back to bite you.

For instance, installing air-conditioners in your house takes time and energy as the technician must ensure it is working properly and that it is safe enough to be used once it’s installed. But for some reason, this customer wasn’t willing to pay in full for the air-cond installation service and this was the result he got (or could’ve gotten):

SOURCE: FACEBOOK

A Facebook user going by the name Ang Kong Sing posted 2 screenshot photos of a conversation between a customer and an air-conditioner technician. In the Whatsapp conversation above, the customer said he wanted to install a 1-horsepower air-conditioner at his house.

The technician then provided the customer with the information about how much the service would cost which was RM250. Unfortunately, the customer was not willing to pay the reasonably affordable price and instead asked for a discount. When asked how much he was willing to pay, the customer said RM120, basically asking for a 52% discount.

To convince the technician to accept the offer, the customer told them that the air-cond doesn’t have to look perfect just as long as it gets the job done. The technician then shared a photo of what the air-cond would look like once it’s installed. The photo showed the air-cond hanging sideways with no support underneath it. Terrified of the dangerous and risky setup, the customer quickly declined the service.

Netizens responded to the Facebook post with many finding the whole thing hilarious as they’ve never seen an air-cond installed in that position. Others believe that the technician’s price was actually quite cheap and affordable, arguing that the market price could go as high as RM350.
