Japanese-born British actress Sonoya Mizuno (ソノヤ・ミズノ) has landed a role in Warner Bros.’s upcoming novel-turned-movie, “Crazy Rich Asians”.

Helmed by “Now You See Me 2” director Jon M. Chu, the upcoming film will feature an all-Asian cast including Henry Golding, Constance Wu, Michelle Yeoh, and Gemma Chan.

Mizuno will be playing Araminta, fiancee of Nick’s best friend, Colin, who also happens to be a major fashion icon in Singapore. We think that she’s perfect for the role as she is a real-life fashion model and icon. She has modelled for big brands such as Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent, Uniqlo, Calvin Klein, and Louis Vuitton.

Aside from her modelling career, the-ballerina-turned-actress has appeared in numerous films including “Ex Machina” (2015), “La La Land” (2016), as well as “High Strung” (2016).

Based on Kevin Kwan’s best-selling novel of the same name, “Crazy Rich Asians” centres on Nick Young (played by Henry Golding) and his girlfriend and fellow professor Rachel Chu (played by Constance Wu). When the couple travels back to Singapore to attend his best friend’s wedding, his secret is out. Nick is from a family that is worth $13 billion and he’s perhaps the most eligible bachelor in Asia.

The movie’s screenplay will be penned by Peter Chiarelli (from “The Proposal”) and Adele Lim (from “Lethal Weapon”). Color Force’s Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, and Ivanhoe president John Penotti are producing, with author Kevin Kwan and Ivanhoe chairman Robert Friedland attached as executive producers. Moreover, Courtenay Valenti and Jon Gonda will oversee the project for Warner Bros.
