Following the announcement of The Joker’s origin movie, it was reported that Warner Bros. are working on a another film starring The Clown Prince of Crime and Harley Quinn!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, “Crazy, Stupid, Love” filmmaking duo Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are in final negotiations to direct and write the film. Described as a “criminal love story”, the film is reportedly slated to hit cinemas after the release of the “Suicide Squad” sequel.
Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are set to reprise their roles as the villainous couple. The 2 actors will also be seen in the “Suicide Squad” sequel and “Gotham City Sirens”, an all-female DC movie.
Unlike The Joker’s origin movie, which will star a different (and possibly younger) actor as the titular character, /FILM noted that this twisted romance movie will take place within the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
In case you’ve forgotten, Harley Quinn falls in love with The Joker in the prison when she was still a doctor in last year’s “Suicide Squad”. She even voluntarily dives into the acid to prove her love for him. However, their relationship is abusive and Mr. J often uses her as a pawn in his schemes.
But as The Joker and Harley Quinn movie is expected to come after the “Suicide Squad” sequel, we don’t really what to expect.
