Update (31st March): Check out the latest updates on Covid-19 red zones and orange zones here.

Original article follows:

Yesterday (Sunday, 22nd March), Director General of Health Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that the Ministry of Health (Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia) had unveiled a list of locations that are now under intensive monitoring.

“These areas are considered as Covid-19 red zones. Intensive monitoring will take place at these areas especially locations with records of positive Covid-19 cases,” said Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

The list includes 6 locations in Malaysia that are considered Covid-19 red zones. 4 of the aforementioned are in the Klang Valley alone.

  1. Petaling Jaya (96 cases)
  2. Lembah Pantai (90 cases)
  3. Hulu Langat (75 cases)
  4. Johor Bahru (52 cases)
  5. Seremban (42 cases)
  6. Titiwangsa (40 cases)

It also appears that the Covid-19 red zones list may increase soon with the following:

  1. Gombak (38 cases)
  2. Penang (34 cases)
  3. Kota Bahru (29 cases)
  4. Kluang (26 cases)
  5. Kepong (24 cases)
  6. Klang (23 cases)
  7. Batu Pahat (23 cases)
  8. Kuala Muda (23 cases)
  9. Kinta (22 cases)

Covid-19

Titiwangsa came under the red zone after a large number of allegedly tabligh participants showed up at Klinik Kesihatan Titiwangsa to get Covid-19 screening.
